Atlanta United saw their inaugural season and first-ever playoff match come down to the ultimate game of chance, penalty kicks, and it didn’t go well. The Five Stripes season is over after falling to the Columbus Crew in 3-1 in penalty kicks. After 120 scoreless minutes the match went to spot kicks. Atlanta missed their first two kicks with Zack Steffen coming up huge twice. Brad Guzan gave them a glimmer of hope with a save of his own, but it wasn’t enough. Crew advance and Atlanta’s first amazing season comes to an end in bitter fashion.
Instead of giving you our player ratings, we what to know what you think. Below is a ratings form for you to fill out with how you rate each Atlanta United player’s performance. After a day/night of voting, we’ll tabulate the ratings and reveal them with the top rated player being named our site’s Man of the Match. Feel free to head down to the comments section and leave your thoughts on the match as a whole or give your detailed explanation of your ratings.
