There is still much to be done in 2017, but Atlanta United is already announcing their plans for next year. The Carolina Challenge Cup lineup has been announced and the Five Stripes will participate alongside the Charleston Battery, Minnesota United, and the Columbus Crew. Atlanta participated in the Cup last year winning two matches and coming in second place in the tournament.
Atlanta will open the tournament against the Columbus Crew on February 17th. The team will then face Minnesota United Wednesday February 21st. Finally, the Five Stripes will take on the tournament hosts on Saturday February 24th. It will be the third meeting between the two teams with the Five Stripes beating the Battery 2-1 in the tournament last year and eliminating the Holy City Football Club from the U.S. Open Cup.
Tickets for the tournament will go on sale October 20, 2017 as Atlanta United has a chance to get their first hardware of 2018.
