Another talented teenager from Atlanta United’s youth system will be representing the Stars and Stripes. Following in the footsteps of Andrew Carleton, defender George Bello has been called into the U.S. Men’s U-17 National Team as a part of the roster for the Nike Friendlies.

The competition will take place in Lakewood Ranch, Florida from between November 29th - December 3rd. Bello signed a Homegrown contract with Atlanta United this past June and is currently listed on the club’s U-19 side. The Douglassville native was called into camp before the tournament along side United youth forward Daniel Mangarov, who unfortunately did not make the cut for manager John Hackworth’s final roster.

The U.S. will begin the tournament against England on the 29th of November before taking on the Netherlands on December 1st and finishing up the tournament versus Brazil on the 3rd. For now, Bello is still a promising young talent, but a good showing against international opponents could raise his profile even further.
