The NWSL has released the 2017 home openers and the NC Courage will be facing the Washington Spirit on the road at the Maryland SoccerPlex to kick off their inaugural season on Saturday, April 15. The team will then square off against the Portland Thorns on Saturday, April 22 in their first game at WakeMed Soccer Park.

The last time that the Courage faced Washington and Portland was in the NWSL post season as the Western New York Flash. The match against Portland was in the semi-final and was one of the most exciting games of the 2016 season. In the final the Flash needed a late goal to force extra-time and beat the Spirit on penalties to win the NWSL Championship.

The team also announced that it is opening training camp on Monday, March 13. The rest of the 24 game schedule will be released as the season approaches.
