Two NC Courage Players on USWNT Roster ahead of She Believes Cup

With the She Believes Cup slated to kick off in a little less than a month, USWNT manager Jill Ellis has named her 25 player roster for camp before the tournament. NC Courage midfielder Samantha Mewis and forward Lynn Williams are included in the squad. Brianna Pinto, a 16 year-old from Durham, North Carolina and a Capital Area Soccer League academy product, also made the cut.

Camp will be held starting on February 20 in Orlando Florida ahead of the tournament. The She Believes Cup will take place between March 1 and March 7. England, Germany, the US, and France will participate in the contest. The US will begin the campaign to defend their title in the cup against Germany in the opening match on March 1 in Chester, Pennsylvania. In last year’s cup, Mewis scored the game winning goal against Germany to ensure that the US would come away the top team in the tournament.
