Miguel Almiron could miss Chattanooga FC friendly

You may have to wait a bit to see Miguelito in action.

Atlanta United could be without one of their high profile signings to kick off the slate of four preseason matches. The AJC’s Doug Roberson reports that Miguel Almiron has been bothered by a slight knee injury and could be held out of Saturday’s preseason opener against Chattanooga FC.

Martino told Roberson that the club’s training staff would evaluate his status during the next two days and decide whether or not he’s able to play. While Almiron says he’s going about his business as usual and will let Martino decide.

“I’m working normally and we will see what the coach says,” Almiron said. “It’s him who decides.”

While it would be a slight bummer if we aren’t able to see Miguelito play in the preseason opener, it’s obviously not the end of the world. From the sound of it, it seems the injury is very minor and if he doesn’t play it would be precautionary.
