Coming off of their first win in franchise history, Atlanta United return home for a quick stop before the international break separates them from a long four-match road trip around the country. While calling anything a must-win this early in the season is silly, it sure would be nice to pick up another three points before the schedule gets really, really tough.
The Chicago Fire are pushovers no more and will provide the Five Stripes with a stern test. A revamped roster has Veljko Paunović’s side raising expectations in the Windy City. The additions of Dax McCarty and Juninho have made the Fire’s midfield a formidable force and paired with the lightning quick David Accam, they are capable of giving any team in MLS fits.
Atlanta United will hope to keep up the momentum from the 6-1 beatdown put on Minnesota United last weekend. Tata Martino’s high flying attack was on full display as Josef Martinez and Miguel Almiron put on a show that not even a snowstorm could cool down. Can they keep firing on all cylinders against the much-improved Fire? This should be a heckuva match.
