Atlanta United fans got a cruel introduction to international fixtures last week when Josef Martinez was injured while playing for Venezuela. There’s still one more round of matches remaining. All eyes will be on the match-up of Brazil against Paraguay and Miguel Almiron’s health.
Brazil vs. Paraguay
According to social media, Almiron was immense in Paraguay’s 2-1 win over Ecuador but was hobbled late in the match. He went down several times before coming back on. It’s impossible to know if this was normal late-game tactics or if he was really struggling. Keep an eye on his spot in the lineup tonight and if he’s available to go. Brazil are dominating CONMEBOL qualifying and are at home, they should probably be heavily favored in this one.

Chile vs. Venezuela
Before Martinez’s injury this had the potential to be a United vs. United match-up. However, it’s going to be up to Carlos Carmona to carry the flag for the Five Stripes in this one. He was an unused sub in Chile’s loss to Argentina on Thursday. Let’s see if he sees the field against Venezuela who occupy the bottom of the table.
