Atlanta United opened their MLS history books with a 2-1 defeat to New York Red Bulls in their first ever MLS match on Sunday night at Bobby Dodd Stadium. Yamil Asad got things off on the right foot for the Five Stripes with the club’s first ever MLS goal in the first half. However, a pair of late goals by Daniel Royer and an Anton Walkes own goal was enough to hand United a loss in their inaugural match.
