Lineups for Atlanta United's first ever MLS match have been confirmed. It's about what we expected from Tata Martino as he trots out the same familiar 4-2-3-1 we saw in preseason with Josef Martinez leading the attack and the midfield trio of Miguel Almiron, Yamil Asad, and Hector Villalba behind him. Rookie Julian Gressel gets rewarded for a great preseason with a start for his MLS debut alongside Carlos Carmona. The normal back four of Mears, Parkhurst, Pirez, and Garza get their first true test with Kann in goal.
For the Red Bulls, who are coming off a loss on Thursday in Vancouver in the CCL, they run out a first-choice lineup sans the injured Gonzalo Veron
Full Lineups:
Atlanta United: Kann; Mears, Parkhurst, Pirez, Garza; Gressel, Carmona; Villalba, Almiron, Asad; Martinez
New York Red Bulls: Robles; Zizzo, Long, Perrienelle, Lawrence; Felipe, Davis; Royer, Kljestan; Wright-Phillips, Muyl
Kick off has been pushed back to around 7:48 p.m.
