Miguel Almiron scored a brilliant hat trick against Houston Dynamo on Saturday night was fun to watch. But, it was his second goal that had everyone talking. The composure to skip around a tackle at the top of the box, the concentration to stay with the play and the accuracy of his rocket shot to find the top corner of the net. It was truly breath-taking.
Nearly everyone, including myself, expected the goal to be nominated for MLS Goal of the Week. To our surprise, Miggy does have a goal nominated, but it’s not that one. Instead, his first goal received the nomination and currently leads the voting with 41%.

That’s great. I’m not here to play Ebenezer Scrooge to the MLS GOTW award. But just for the sake of argument, it should’ve been this goal getting the nod:

Nevertheless, keep stuffing the ballot. Let’s win another fan vote and make it 3 for 3 on the season. But, in the comments let us know if you think they got it wrong too.
