Atlanta United 3-1 NYCFC: Community Player Ratings

A good battle, but only one inevitable winner.

MLS: New York City FC at Atlanta United FC Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

Atlanta United are back to being fun to watch. Their 3-1 win over New York City FC was vindication that this team is as good as we thought they were in the beginning of the season. Injuries and a rough schedule have skewed results a bit, but the obvious overall talent and quality still exists.

Man of the Match: Miguel Almiron

And still...Heavyweight Player Rating Champion of the world! Despite scoring two goals in the win and finally taking the team’s goal lead away from Josef Martinez, Almiron had some stiff competition for the MOTM nod. Julian Gressel, who has looked like a completely different player since his move to the wing, made a valiant run for the top spot, but came up just short.
