From the ashes.

MLS: Colorado Rapids at Atlanta United FC Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

Atlanta United returned to the win column and rose above the red playoff line in the Eastern conference after a 1-0 win over a scared Colorado Rapids on Saturday night. Pablo Mastroeni came into Bobby Dodd Stadium like it was the USMNT coming into Estadio Azteca, except he didn’t have Michael Bradley or Christian Pulisic and Tata Martino’s side picked his apart.

Man of the Match: Josef Martinez

As you’d expect, the man who scored the only goal of the match got the highest vote total. Not only did Josef Martinez find the net in his first MLS start since March, but he almost literally walked through fire to do it. His seventh league goal of the season was enough to earn the Five Stripes their fourth straight home win.
