Another post, another Brad Guzan love fest is on the way. If you’re getting tired of all the Guzan love, I apol— get over it. Because, his debut performance for Atlanta United is worth all the posts in the world. His five save outing not only helped the Five Stripes keep a clean sheet to help set up the eventual game-winner by Tito Villalba, but it also showed just how big of an influence he has on the team’s back line.
For his great work, MLS has named him to their Team of the Week:
Congratulations, gents

Guzan had his fair share of doubters coming into Friday’s win over Orlando. A bad goal allowed in the Gold Cup overshadowed several good saves and had people wondering if he was even as good as incumbent starter Alec Kann. I think Friday’s outing proved that he’s undoubtedly an upgrade at the goalkeeper spot. With all due respect to Kann, who did a fine job as the team’s starter, Guzan’s experience and talent was undeniably important for Atlanta.
