Atlanta United is asking all fans to wear the secondary kit on the Fourth of July when they take on the San Jose Earthquakes. It will be the eighth straight sell out at Bobby Dodd and it will also mark the sixth time this season (2 wins, 3 Losses, 1 tie) that the team has worn the infamous Concrete and strawberry kit that was unveiled earlier this year.
The decision to wear the secondary kit, in my opinion, makes sense given the patriotic theme of the night and it allows for more patriotic themed attire given the light color of the jersey. The crest sits directly over the heart which shows the passion and pride for the team but by choosing to go with the lighter jersey, it also allows for some creativity to show the passion for the team and for this great nation as a whole.
It will be fascinating to see the creativity of the fans that incorporates the secondary kit into their patriotic attire. It will make for a fantastic night and be sure to stick around for the fireworks display after the match!
