ATLANTA UNITED

For the second week in a row, a late goal by Atlanta United (specifically by Tito “The Lion Tamer” Villalba) broke Orlando City hearts. While this time it just salvaged a point for the Five Stripes, it was sweet nonetheless. This match was almost a carbon copy of the clash in Orlando with the home team getting great chances to score but unable to find net only for a wondergoal out of nowhere to peg them back. Thankfully, Tito’s late heroics in second half stoppage time got Atlanta four points out of the two-match stretch.

Man of the Match: Tito Villalba

Admittedly, for 91 minutes Tito was almost nonexistent except for his blown breakaway and missed open net in the first half. It could also be argued that Leandro Gonzalez Pirez put in a fantastic defensive performance to keep the match at 1-0. However, no one is going to remember the great tackle in the 55th minute when something as dramatic as a stoppage time equalizer occurs. You can’t blame everyone for giving Tito the grade they did. Such is the world.
