The MLS Fan 11 for the 2017 All Star Game has been announced and two Atlanta United players made the selection. Fans voted for Miguel Almiron and Greg Garza to represent MLS as the league’s best take on Real Madrid on August 2, 2017 at Soldier Field.

In 2015 only David Villa of NYCFC was elected by fans to represent an expansion side at the All Star game against Tottenham. Kaka was selected by manager Pablo Mastroeni and Don Garber used one of his commissioner picks to insert Frank Lampard in the team despite not having played a match in the league up to the All Star break. Interestingly, both Kaka and Villa scored in the match leading the All Stars over the Premier League giants.

Garza will be playing in front of Tim Howard and alongside Graham Zusi and DaMarcus Beasley. In midfield, Almiron will be joined by Bastian Schweinsteiger, Kaka, and Michael Bradley. The forwards elected by the fans were David Villa, Nemanja Nikolic, and Sebastian Giovinco.

Manager Veljko Paunovic will select an additional 11 players and Don Garber will get two commissioner picks to round out the team. They will have a difficult opponent as Ronaldo, Sergio Ramos, and Gareth Bale travel to the Windy City to take on Almiron, Garza, and the MLS All Stars.
