26 Days until Atlanta United play in Mercedes-Benz Stadium

It’s everyone’s favorite DSS feature returned from the dead. The countdown is on to Atlanta United’s first ever match in Mercedes-Benz Stadium. To get you excited for the big match on September 10 against FC Dallas, we’re going to be bringing you a daily post just like this. Our goal with these is to get you well-acquainted with the new stadium before the first match.

As of today, we’re 26 days away from Michael Parkhurst leading out the team on the field for the first-time ever.

Let’s start off with a simple fact. When in soccer-specific mode, like it will be for all but two matches this season, MBS’s capacity is listed at 42,500. This is just slightly under the Five Stripes’ reported season average of 46,482, the MLS best aveage attendance currently.
