Brad Guzan has been called into the USMNT ahead of their World Cup Qualifiers against Costa Rica and Honduras. Head coach Bruce Arena will be hoping Guzan’s good form carries over into the national team with two crucial qualifiers looming.
Guzan is expected to feature in at least one of the United States’ crucial qualifiers, adding to the Atlanta goalkeeper’s 56 caps.
With a tough test at home to Costa Rica on September 1st before traveling to Honduras four days later, Guzan will need to continue his good league form for the USMNT to come away with positive results.
The United States currently sit in third place in the CONCACAF Hexagonal and are in position to automatically qualify for the 2018 World Cup.
Thankfully, Guzan won’t miss any time for Atlanta United with games on August 26th and September 10th. The latter means Guzan will have five days to recover from international duty before Atlanta take on FC Dallas in the first ever home game in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
