I’M KING OF THE WORLD
ATLANTA UNITED

The day is finally here. At long last, Atlanta United step foot in their new home to play a match. After months of playing way too many away matches and sharing some time at a temporary stadium, Mercedes-Benz Stadium is finally open for business. Many questions are left to be answered about the gigantic new stadium and how it will affect the team. FC Dallas offers a great measuring stick to find out just how big of a homefield advantage the ridiculously expensive mega stadium will be for the Five Stripes.

Atlanta enter the last 10 matches of the season with 8 games at MBS. Settling in to their new home will be absolutely crucial to their playoff chances. Coming off an international break that saw three players play for their countries, it’s imperative for Tata Martino’s side to start winning some of the games in hand their have over their playoff spot competitors.

It all starts today. Can Atlanta United open their new stadium with a win and get their playoff push truly underway? We have to hope so. What a day we have ahead of us...
