Atlanta United continues sellout streak

Wednesday’s match vs. New England is sold out

MLS: FC Dallas at Atlanta United FC Adam Hagy-USA TODAY Sports

Atlanta United has continued its home sellout streak, which will extend to 11 straight games on Wednesday when the team hosts the New England Revolution at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Capacity for the match is 42,500 seats, the usual seating arrangement for most matches. The team is opening up the 300-level seats this Saturday against Orlando City SC, and also for the team’s final regular season match to first-place Toronto FC on October 22.

Selling out Wednesday’s match was up-in-the-air with several circumstances playing against the club’s favor. Weeknight fixtures are always tough draws, especially when they come off the back of a tropical storm that knocked out power for hundreds of thousands across the state. The streak will be tough to keep going through early fall, as the club plays weeknight matches for four consecutive weeks (including this week). Atlanta United keeps proving every doubter wrong though, so we wouldn’t bet the house against it.
