Another game, another hat-trick.

Josef Martinez enjoyed an incredible week in front of goal, scoring consecutive hat-tricks during Atlanta United’s 7-0 win over New England Revolution and in a 3-3 stalemate with Orlando City.

Martinez’s clinical finishing earned him the Alcatel MLS Player of the Week award for Week 28. The Venezuelan became the third player in league history to score consecutive hat-tricks and continued his exceptional season with 16 goals in 14 games.

The striker is just three goals off the top spot for the MLS Golden Boot, despite only playing 14 games this season and is currently averaging a mind-blowing 1.39 goals per 90 minutes.

Atlanta United have scored 13 times in their first three games at Mercedes-Benz Stadium and Martinez has scored seven of those, highlighting his importance to the team. With five games remaining at home, Martinez could find himself with another hat-trick if Atlanta continue to fire on all cylinders, as they have done in recent weeks.

Martinez was also featured in the MLS Team of the Week alongside teammate Miguel Almiron, topping off a fantastic week for Atlanta.
