Back at it again. Atlanta United look to exact a little revenge as it hosts the Montreal Impact. For those with short memories, Les Bleus put one over on the Five Stripes early this season up in Canada thanks to some horrendous refereeing decisions and a lot of luck. A ridiculous first half DOGSO/Penalty call against Leandro Gonzalez Pirez tied up the match after Kenwyne Jones gave Atlanta the lead. The red card would later be appealed and rescinded. Anthony Jackson-Hamel scored a lucky deflected goal to break Red, Black and Gold hearts.
Both teams have come a long way since that frustrating April afternoon. Atlanta are currently riding a 10-match unbeaten run at home and have all but locked up a playoff spot. A win over seventh-place Montreal would basically clinch a postseason berth if not mathematically, logically. The Impact are coming off a surprising 5-3 win at Toronto FC (who were admittedly resting their stars).
Aside from Greg Garza, who is still questionable with a muscle problem, Atlanta should be at full-strength for this one. Jeff Larentowicz has escaped the accumulation monster thanks to good behavior. As of now, there are no players on the team at risk of suspension. Brandon Vazquez will be serving his one-game suspension today for his straight red card against LA Galaxy.
