Miguel Almiron suffers apparent hamstring injury against Montreal Impact

He only lasted 15 minutes.

The matches are piling up for Atlanta United and now they’ve suffered their first sign wear and tear. Miguel Almiron was subbed off against Montreal Impact just 15 minutes into the match with what appeared to be a hamstring injury. After battling for possession near the endline, he came up holding the back of his leg.

After spending a couple of minutes trying to continue on, he signaled to the bench for a substitution and was replaced by Julian Gressel. I’m no doctor, but I’ve seen enough soccer to predict that he did something to his hamstring. Those are worrisome injuries to deal with and you can be sure the club will want to be extra cautious with him.

Atlanta have another midweek match against the Philadelphia Union on Wednesday and travel to New England on the weekend. Stay tuned as we’ll update you on his status as soon as it becomes available.
