Once again, Atlanta United is scoring in bunches. However, this one is a little bit different.
The first goal came from a delightful ball by Leandro Gonzalez Pirez, followed by a great first touch and finish by Julian Gressel. The goal gave Gress his 4th goal of the season and helped to cement the tone of the half.
Minutes later he found an assist to Josef Martinez, which is his 18th goal of the season. Although the goals were fantastic, nothing was more special than Martinez paying tribute to Almiron after the goal.
Gresselmania and Josef have run wild at Mercedes Benz Stadium, to help give Atlanta United a 2-0 lead... in tribute to our Great Miggy. Check them out below:
