According to TyC Sports, Atlanta United would like to complete the Ezequiel Barco negotiations with Independiente within the next few hours. The report claims that a $15 million transfer fee has been agreed upon, but that Independiente’s demand for 30% of a future selling price over the next five years is keeping this deal from being complete.

Although TyC Sports claims Atlanta United is pressing to get the deal done, it’s still important to remember how long soccer negotiations tend to drag out(and how long this one already has). Still, perhaps tonight is the fork in the road for these discussions to come to an end. Either Atlanta rejoices after a successful trip to Argentina, Independiente adds one last straw that breaks the back of Atlanta’s willingness to buy, or this just drags out for eternity.

Keep your collective fingers crosssed for a deal to finally be completed today, ATL. Our sanity is at stake.
