Carlos Carmona has gone home back to Chile, but the midfielder says that Atlanta United will always be in his heart.

The 30-year-old posted an emotional farewell message to Instagram on Monday where he said goodbye to the city, his teammates and the club.

carmon17 Thank you very much @atlutd and all those who make up this great club, especially my teammates, coaching staff and fans that made me feel at home from the first day. They will always be in my heart ❤️. I wish you the best in this 2018 (Translated by Google)

Carmona has joined Colo-Colo after requesting to return back to his home country to be with his wife who is due to give birth during the upcoming season.

Atlanta United will reportedly make a pretty nice profit from the transfer. After signing him on a free transfer from Atalanta in 2017, reports say that Colo-Colo paid up to $1.5 million for him in the transfer, giving the Five Stripes some financial freedom to search for a replacement in short order before their second season in MLS begins.

Even though he only spent one season in Atlanta, Carlos Carmona will be fondly remember for his service at the club. Best of luck, Carlos.
