Atlanta United failed to capitalize on a chance to win the Supporters’ Shield, collapsing against Toronto FC in Canada to the tune of 4-1 loss.
Toronto made Atlanta pay for a slow start and a handful of early mistakes. Atlanta struggled to connect on passes in the opening minutes and a horrendous give away in the ninth minute by Jeff Larentowicz led to a deflected shot and an opener for the Reds and Lucas Janson.

Atlanta United would pull within one in the second half thanks to a Josef Martinez penalty, but Toronto would destroy any and all hope with two more goals to close the game.
Red Bulls win the Shield. The playoffs start November 4.
