Miguel Almiron listed as “week-to-week”

It could be worse? Maybe?

Atlanta United announced today that midfielder Miguel Almiron is listed as “week-to-week” after suffering a left hamstring injury 30 minutes into Saturday’s match against New England.

Almiron tweaked the same hamstring at the end of last season, nearly a year ago to the day. In 2017, Almiron left the Sept. 24, 2017 match against Montreal 17 minutes in. He didn’t return to action until a brief appearance in the final regular season match of the year on Oct. 22, 2017. He started in the team’s first ever playoff game four days later against Columbus.

Atlanta United has a short break before welcoming Chicago to Atlanta on Oct. 21. The Five Stripes play their final regular season game on Oct. 28 in Toronto. The Eastern Conference Semifinals are set to begin on Nov. 4.

The 2017 injury was announced as needing “a minimum of three weeks” to heal. Perhaps week-to-week is more encouraging?
