Darren Eales laughs off Miguel Almiron to Arsenal rumors

“It would take at least triple that.”

Atlanta United President Darren Eales spoke to 92.9 The Game on Tuesday and dispelled the notion that Arsenal are anywhere close to signing Miguel Almiron this winter.

Rumors from England began circulating late last week stating that the famed London club were nearing a deal for Almiron for around 11 million euros.

Eales addressed that and several other hot topics regarding Atlanta United with Dukes and Bell. He laughed off the reports by saying “it would take at least triple that” for the club to consider letting the Paraguayan go.

Almiron may eventually leave the club and has even said himself that he would like to test himself in Europe as early as 2019, but it will take a huge offer, one that will smash the MLS record for outgoing transfers, for it to happen.

The full interview with Eales where he discusses his “Darren Eagles” alias, the burgeoning George Bello, and the club’s late season run towards the playoffs can be heard here.
