Why we’re thankful for every Atlanta United player

‘Tis the season

MLS: Real Salt Lake at Atlanta United FC Adam Hagy -USA TODAY Sports

Thanksgiving is not about the pie, the gravy boats, the mashed potatoes or the dark meat. It’s about being thankful, or something. I dunno. But I am thankful for Atlanta United and what they’ve given us this year. So here’s a little something I’m thankful for this holiday. Please add yours in the comments below:

  1. Brad Guzan: Thank you for always giving me a solid quote about respecting the opposition,
  2. Franco Escobar: Thank you for your incredible batman tattoo sleeve that includes a rendering of a very sinister Joker and “ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha” all over your arm.
  3. Michael Parkhurst: Thank you for your honesty in interviews, even when I can tell by the look on your face that you might be regretful in real time of what you’re saying.
  4. Greg Garza: Thank you for your shoulder and your ever-perfect hair. Nary a strand out of place.
  5. Leandro Gonzalez Pirez: Thank you for you learning English and speaking to us in our native tongue when possible. I’m also thankful for you and your wife’s incredible Instagram, especially the asado and golfing content.
  6. Darlington Nagbe: Thank you for proving to everyone that Caleb Porter had been wasting your talent playing you on the left wing.
  7. Josef Martinez: Thank you for making Mercedes-Benz Stadium the Highlight Factory.
  8. Ezequiel Barco: Thank you for giving us something to fight about and spicing this place up.
  9. Romario Williams: Thank you for childlike smile, your twitter handle that only makes sense to you, and for making the LAFC game look like a rout.
  10. Miguel Almiron: Thank you for your smile and for being a very nice person on top of your super-stardom.
  11. Eric Remedi: Thank you for being a good sport about it all.
  12. Miles Robinson: Thank you for that performance against NYCFC so we could rub it in Matt Doyle’s face.
  13. Jose Hernandez: Thank you for being number 13.
  14. Sal Zizzo: Thank you for letting us call you Sal Zizzou.
  15. Tito Villalba: Thank you for making a one-time switch to Paraguay and being lifelong friends and future World Cup winners with Miguel.
  16. Chris McCann: Thank you for the shoes.
  17. Fans: Thank you for making this team so much fun to cover and for making this site so vibrant. Love your passion.
  18. Jeff Larentowicz: Thank you for refusing to believe in age.
  19. Brandon Vazquez: Thank you for being Atlanta’s magic man in the last 5 minutes of matches.
  20. Chris Goslin: Thank you for transforming into a man’s body.
  21. George Bello: Thank you for letting me tell your story one time, and for being a godsend for us this season.
