Here’s who Atlanta United have exposed in the 2018 MLS Expansion Draft

Will the Five Stripes lose anyone?

MLS: MLS Cup-Portland Timbers vs Atlanta United FC Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Atlanta United have left 14 players exposed for tomorrow’s Expansion Draft. After going through the process of protecting their most valued players, here’s the list of players who will unfortunately be available for FC Cincinnati to select from:

Mikey Ambrose

Jon Gallagher

Jose Hernandez

Mitch Hildebrandt (Option Declined)

Alec Kann

Kevin Kratz

Jeff Larentowicz

Chris McCann

Michael Parkhurst (Free Agent)

Oliver Shannon (Option Declined)

Brandon Vazquez

Andrew Wheeler-Omiunu (Option Declined)

Romario Williams

Sal Zizzo (Free Agent)

A team is only allowed to lose one player in the Expansion Draft. With only five overall picks, the odds are small that Atlanta will have one selected. It’s also important to remember that salaries and circumstance probably valued more in these types of drafts than the best available player. Someone like Romario Williams who is on $71,500 may be more attractive than say someone like Jeff Larentowicz who was a vital part of the Five Stripes’ cup-winning team.
