We’re just starting the offseason, but Darren Eales and Atlanta United are already looking forward. As reported by Mike Conti, Eales said in an interview on 92.9 with Dukes and Bell that the club is looking to hire a new head coach by January 14, which is when training camp opens for the 2019 season.

He also acknowledged that they have just started to interview candidates, as previously reported.
This is sure to add to the speculation that has run rampant in the fan base since November, when Tata Martino announced his departure in the offseason to take over as Mexico’s national team manager.
It is unclear whether the candidates that have been floating around are the only ones being considered, but it is safe to say that it will continue to be a talking point until the hire is made, and the pressure is now on for Eales to deliver by January 14th.
