Noted Argentine football site Doble Amarilla has reported that both club president Darren Eales and technical director Carlos Bocanegra are in the country’s capital seeking to recruit a replacement for Tata Martino as he prepares to leave in the offseason.
According to this report, their main target for the position is current Boca Juniors manager Guillermo Barros Schelotto. This makes the most sense as the club’s next hire, as Barros Schelotto has not only played in MLS, (winning the Cup with the Columbus Crew in 2008), but is also set to leave Boca following the end of the season with his contract expiring.
The other two names that have been mentioned are former Argentine national team coach Jorge Sampoli and Gabriel Milito, who despite his pedigree as a player has very little coaching experience.
Which of these candidates would you most like to see at the helm next season? Sound off in the comments.
