The hype continues around Ezequiel Barco, and it is not just coming from Atlanta. La Gazzetta dello Sport, an Italian sports newspaper, published a list of their top Top 98 players born in 1998 or later. The Argentine sensation is one of two MLS players (Tyler Adams at #58) included in the rankings, coming in at the #10 spot.

Barco is placed higher than many notable players, including Everton’s Tom Davies, U.S. international Weston McKennie, and Monterrey’s Jonathan Gonzalez. Other notable players accompanying Barco in the Top 10 are Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe, U.S. wunderkind Christian Pulisic, and AC Milan’s Gianluigi Donnarumma, who lead the way at #1, #2 and #3 respectively.
It says a lot about the potential the 18-year-old possesses when outlets in Italy are aware of his talent and consider him to be among the best young players in the world. Atlanta can only hope Barco lives up to the evergrowing expectations on his shoulders.
