Columbus Crew vs. Minnesota United

There’s something about the Crew and playing in the Holy City, as they’ve now won back-to-back Carolina Challenge Cups after a 2-0 victory against Minnesota. Gonzalo Higuain opened the scoring after his volley attempt was bobbled by keeper Bobby Shuttleworth and into the goal in the 32nd minute. Shortly after, Harrison Afful’s cross found Gyasi Zardes for his third goal of the CCC, a 2-0 win, and another preseason title.

Both teams kick off their respective regular seasons next Saturday, March 3rd. Columbus will travel to the defending MLS Cup Champion Toronto FC, while MNUFC heads west to San Jose.

Charleston Battery vs. Atlanta United

A 0-0 draw completed Atlanta’s 2018 preseason. It was a rather dull affair from both teams, but we did see a very experimental side from the Five Stripes. Patrick Okonkwo and Gordon Wild, on loan from Atlanta to the Battery, were both unused substitutes. Check out our full match recap.

Charleston begins their USL campaign on March 17th at home against Cincinnati FC, while Atlanta is away at the Houston Dynamo.
