Sources have confirmed to Dirty South Soccer that the Carolina Challenge Cup will be broadcast across the United States by beIN Sports. The annual four-team preseason tournament is held at the Charleston Battery’s MUSC Health Stadium. This year the field includes the Battery, Atlanta United, Columbus Crew and Minnesota United.
Atlanta kick off the tournament against the team that knocked them out of the MLS Cup playoffs in their inaugural season. The Crew will look to continue to madden Atlanta fans on Saturday, February 17 at 5:00 p.m.. The following Wednesday, the Five Stripes take on their fellow 2017 expansion team, Minnesota United, at 7:30 p.m.. Finally, Atlanta face off against their former USL affiliate, the Battery, on Saturday, February 24 at 7:30 p.m. to conclude their preparations for the 2018 season.
