Atlanta United broke the single-game attendance record for their third time during their 2018 home opener against DC United.
72,035 fans packed Mercedes Benz Stadium for Atlanta United’s 3-1 victory over DC United. Atlanta now hold the top three single game attendance records in MLS.

“It was huge,” Guzan said. “We knew we had to turn things around from last week and we were going to need our supporters help for that in terms of creating an atmosphere that would be exciting for us to play in, but pretty intimidating for other teams, specifically DC United.”
As of now, there are only three more matches in 2018 that will be played inside MSB at full capacity, giving Atlanta supporters three more opportunities to nab the other two top five attendance record spots. The next time Atlanta United will play with expanded capacity will be against Orlando City on July 30th. It’s safe to say that match will break some kind of record.
