Southern hospitality is real, y’all. It’s pretty clear at this point that Atlanta United has another dimension to its game when the team plays at home in the friendly confines of Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The fans gave the Five Stripes a push so big that it vaulted them over their biggest bugaboo in the league in D.C. United. We asked you to rate the players from the 3-1 victory. Here are your results:
Man of the Match: Miguel Almiron
What a performance it was from the Paraguayan, notching an assist and a thunderbastard of a goal. But to only mention the instances that got his name on the scoresheet would do Almiron a disservice. He was everywhere on the evening and was the most influential player on the pitch. The performance couldn’t have come at a better time, seeing as the midfield dynamo was coming off of his worst performance as an Atlanta United player last week in Houston. Even Tata Martino admitted that Almiron should’ve played better, and he proved any doubter wrong on Sunday with a top-of-the-line performance.
