What a boring week it’s been, huh? So far, the biggest Atlanta United news story has been a time change for a match in May. The May 5 match at Chicago will now start at 8:30 instead of the 6:00. There’s your news.
Meanwhile in the general world of MLS, Wednesday was a bit of a downer after a euphoric Tuesday that saw the New York Red Bulls and Toronto FC advance to the CONCACAF Champions League semifinals. The Seattle Sounders had a chance to make it a 75 percent MLS semifinals. Unfortunately, they were unable to hold on to their 1-0 first leg advantage against Chivas de Guadalajara.
The Sounders dealt with mounting injuries to field an inexperienced lineup for the second leg. Couple that with a negative mindset from the beginning and it was a very poor night for the Rave Green. The MLS side made it to halftime scoreless, but as soon as the second half began, Chivas poured on the chances and finally found a few goals to put the tie to bed.
It was a comprehensive loss for the Sounders who never really had a chance other than to hope and pray they somehow kept Chivas off the scoreboard. That dream died a fiery death right along with their CCL lives.
MLS will have to live with a 50/50 chance of winning their first-ever CCL title. Let us know in the comments who you think will win the CCL.

The 2026 United World Cup bid is suffering losses left and right this week. One day after Vancouver pulled out of contention for the bid, Chicago has done the same. Might be time to check on plane tickets to Morocco eight years in advance.
Chicago has withdrawn from the effort to bring the 2026 World Cup to North America, a spokesman for Mayor Rahm Emanuel said Wednesday.https://t.co/FaxCm7Gbnb

Breaking News: Lionel Messi is really good at soccer. Chelsea... not so much.
The GOAT scored twice and Ousmane Dembele added another as Barcelona rolled over Antonio Conte’s squad and into the UCL quarterfinals. The draw on Friday and should offer up some tasty match-ups.
Cool story of the day
Drake played Fortnite duos with Twitch streamer Ninja last night and it was the greatest thing I’ve ever seen. The internet is amazing. You can probably watch the archived stream here if you’re into that sort of thing.
