On what turned out to be a very pleasant St. Patrick’s Day celebration, Atlanta United vanquished the Wicked Witch of the Western Conference, the Vancouver Whitecaps, 4-1 Saturday night in Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Atlanta failed to capitalize on numerous golden chances in the first half after the team was buoyed by the sending off of Whitecaps star defender Kendall Waston. What a legend. El crack de Venezuela delivered his 4th career MLS hat trick. In 23 games. What the hell, HOW IS HE SO GOOD AT THIS? This dude is about to set an all time MLS record in career hat trick. It’ll probably happen this year, considering he only needs one more to tie the damn thing.
Martinez is is one hat-trick away from tying the the all-time #MLS record of five held by Landon Donovan, Stern John and Diego Cerna. #ATLUTD. He has played 23 games.
