Atlanta United 2-2 NYCFC: Community Player Ratings

Your results.

MLS: New York City FC at Atlanta United FC Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

Atlanta United and NYCFC’s meeting Sunday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium quite simply looked and felt like a playoff game. SO much so that the fans even turned on their cell phone lights again and serenaded the players in a moment of equal parts reverance and romance. To borrow a phrase that I almost never say, Sunday was a beautiful game, despite an underwhelming result for the home side — a 2-2 draw and only a single point.

Man of the Match - Miguel Almiron. It was anothe scintilating performance from the Paraguayan. With a free role to roam about the pitch with Kevin Kratz inserted into midfield, Almiron dazzled with the ball at his feet, deftly dancing through midfield with the ball and making smart runs off of it. He ended the night with a pair of assists one of which came off a shot attempt that was saved. Somehow that counts as an assist. Someone explain that one to me please. Anyway, on to your ratings!
