Atlanta United 2-1 Orlando City: Community Player Ratings

Your results.

MLS: Atlanta United FC at Orlando City SC Reinhold Matay-USA TODAY Sports

Atlanta United traveled down to Orlando City Stadium, and for the second time in as many tries, Atlanta United emerged as victors against is most heated rival in the league. The 2-1 win over Orlando City was made even more impressive by the fact that it came as the team completed a congested schedule with 3 games in 8 days. To make matters even more problematic, Atlanta was forced to play with 10 men for close to an hour just 4 days prior to Sunday’s match. The grit and determination on display was truly impressive, but the quality of play was up to par as well.

Men of the Match: That’s not a typo. For the first time in DIrty South Soccer history, we have not one, but TWO men of the match in our community player ratings. You all voted Michael Parkhurst and Ezeqiuel Barco close enough to be considered a rounding error, with a mere couple hundredths of a point between them. Interestingly enough, they were highly rated for opposite reasons. Ezeqiuel Barco was tearing up Orlando’s back line and getting himself on the scoresheet with a peach of a goal. Meanwhile, Parkhurst was on the other end of the pitch with Dom Dwyer in his pocket. Here are your ratings.
