Is #SixWatch back?

Good morning, Atlanta United fans. It’s Tuesday, May 15, and your favorite soccer team is on top of MLS. Parker’s on a top-secret government assignment, but before he left, he asked me to fill in on TDD duties for him today. Just kidding. He’s not on a top-secret government assignment. At least I don’t think he is, though.

On to the Dirt:

Domestic

-Peruvian national Pedro Aquino is reportedly on the radar of “many suitors, including unnamed MLS teams”. That’s defensive midfielder Pedro Aquino. A six. I’d bet one of those “unnamed MLS teams” starts and ends with “A”. More to come as we hear more...

-The U.S. Open Cup did release its second round matchups and third-round pairings on Monday. Since the Cup committee favors geographical matchups if possible, it might be worth keeping an eye on Nashville SC’s progress though as they face NPSL side Inter Nashville on Wednesday. If NSC ends up in the fourth round, don’t be surprised to see a Nashville SC/Atlanta United matchup...

By the way, although the USL’s U.S. based teams enter the competition this week, ATL UTD 2 and any other MLS-owned USL team can’t play in it.

International

-Provisional and full rosters for the World Cup continue to be released. Speaking of Peru, it dropped its preliminary roster on Sunday (Aquino is on it), but captain Paolo Guerrero’s drug suspension has been extended and he’ll miss it. Big...um...blow for the Peruvian team.

-Argentina, who needed a hat trick by Lionel Messi on the final day of qualifying and are now probably going to win the World Cup, came out with its provisional lineup on Monday.

-Here’s Mexico’s:

-Germany’s full squad will come out today, so be on the lookout for that.

On-field temper tantrum of the day that actually happened on Sunday but we’re putting it here anyway
