Atlanta United 2: Personnel Report

the reserve squad continues to fluctuate ahead of Wednesday’s match.

Atlanta United 2’s squad has seen a few alterations throughout the season due to a plethora of different circumstances. Whether it’s first team call-ups, national team duties, academy players coming in and out of the team, or injuries, head coach Scott Donnelly has had a lot of moving pieces to try and work with. Before ATL UTD 2 takes on Toronto’s reserve team Wednesday night at Coolray Field, Donnelly gave us some insight on the status of certain players.

Mitch Hildebrandt: The first team goalkeeper trained with the reserves on Tuesday after returning from a knee injury that kept him out of action for nearly two months. Donnelly said they will work with team personnel to see when the best time to ease him back into competitive minutes will be.

Andrew Carleton & Chris Goslin: The young standouts are both currently with the U20 USYNT and will not be available against Toronto II.

AJ Cochran & Oliver Shannon: After sustaining small injuries against Ottawa last Saturday, both players will be available on Wednesday night.

George Bello: The homegrown hasn’t featured with the reserves recently as he’s dealt with an injury and split some time with the academy. Donnelly said they don’t want to rush him back until he’s fully ready.
