Time for some roomers. By now the Fernando Torres to MLS in one way or another roomer is being passed around along with Wayne Rooney going to what’s left of DC United, but what about other transfers?
Let’s get to the Dirt and find out...
Domestic
Well it’s that time of year again. It seems like just last month we were talking about signing Mbia and here we are yet again. This time the roomer doesn’t quite make as much sense, but soccer writers have said that and been made to look silly in the end anyway. Luckily, this one doesn’t directly involve an Atlanta United player leaving the team. It does involve an aging star who made a name for himself in Europe coming to MLS. No, the team isn’t going to swoop into get Wayne Rooney, but Atlanta United has been linked - however dubiously to Radamel Falcao according to a AS Monaco fan twitter account... or something:
Radamel Falcao aurait reçu une offre de MLS venant du club d'Atlanta United. Ils lui proposeraient un salaire de 4M€/saison et Gerardo Martino aurait contacté des personnes proches du colombien pour essayer de le convaincre de rejoindre les États-Unis.

Maybe it’s nothing or maybe the team is going to fulfill Alpharetta Dad’s wishes and send Josef Martinez elsewhere because 25 goal season strikers are so easy to come by. Plus, seen today in Lyon taking in the Europa League final were Carlos Bocanegra and Darren Eales. Take that for what it is worth, but Monaco and Lyon are not a insurmountable distance away from each other. Whatever happens, it’s good to know that we can call on the army of Atlanta United flight trackers and social media stalkers to keep everyone up to date with what is going on.

Speaking of MLS, the disco met today and decided to do something about Will Johnson. You would think that it would be punishment enough for him to have been made into a meme 100 times since Sunday, but he’s also been fined for simulation for his dive that fooled nobody.
Orlando City SC midfielder Will Johnson was found guilty of simulation/embellishment in the 90+ minute of Orlando’s match against Atlanta United on May 13. He got an undisclosed fine.https://t.co/KBjBkoivnc

International
This is great, good on England to have some fun with their World Cup roster announcement. Somehow, not everyone was happy as Alpharetta Dad’s English cousin West Brompton Dad looked at the shoes of the kids in this video and judged them silently for being born low class:

In the aforementioned Europa League final Atletico Madrid beat Olympique Marseille 3-0 in what was a blatantly one sided game. It was a cap on a very successful season for Atleti who seems all but certain to finish second in La Liga.
Goal
Well it’s hard to top what Mikey Ambrose did, but Antoine Griezmann helped bring home a championship for his club, so we’ll give it a leg up.
