It’s been a very, very good opening two months for Atlanta United and one of the club’s top performers has been rewarded for his great contributions to the their run of success. Miguel Almiron has taken home the award for MLS Player of the Month for the month of April.

Almiron’s five goals and two assists during the month led Atlanta United to an unbeaten record of 3-0-1 and has him tied for the league lead in goals with teammate Josef Martinez (6) and fourth in assists (4).
His latest performance at home against Montreal Impact was arguably his best of the season so far. His two goals and always under-appreciated defensive work rate was enough to earn him Player of the Week honors, as well.
Miggy’s season has gotten off to a great start and it could be argued that he hasn’t even reached his best form with four of his goals coming from penalties. With a little more efficiency in front of goal going forward, he could very well be the front-runner for MVP this season.
