Just in time for World Cup fever another summer tradition is upon us: Silly Season! A report from Argentine newspaper writer and radio host Leonel Cerrudo says that Eric Remedi is on his way to Atlanta. No literally, he’s flying here for a physical.
The first tweet explains that Atlanta United has a verbal agreement with Banfield for a $2 million transfer fee for the 23 year-old Argentine midfielder. The roomer seems pretty specific going onto list details such as an agreement to pay a performance bonus to his current club.

BUT THERE’S MORE...
According to Cerrudo, Remedi will be traveling tonight to Atlanta for his physical.

“Who is Eric Remedi?” you may be asking. Lucky for you I googled some stuff about him. First here’s a video Banfield put out with his highlights:
Remedi is a 23 year-old central midfielder who seems well fitted to the role of a no. 6. In 21 appearances for the club, he has 0 goals and 0 assists and 7 yellow cards according to WhoScored, so that seems to support the defensive midfielder theory. The always reliable and never wildly off base TransferMarkt also has Remedi listed as a defensive mid, but notes he can play center back as well. This also supports what Tata Martino had been saying back in March when Carlos Carmona transferred to Colo-Colo before the season began about finding a replacement for the position.
h/t to /u/cuentuli for originally posting the tweet about the rumor on the always fun r/AtlantaUnited.
