Atlanta United continued their sensational road form this season with an impressive 2-0 win against the Columbus Crew. While the statistics show that the home side had the better of the scoring chances, it was finally the Five Stripes who proved more clinical in front of goal. A first half header by Josef Martinez was supported by a Tito Villalba second half insurance goal giving Atlanta the huge three points.
Man of the Match: Tito Villalba
Despite only playing 14 official minutes, Tito’s return to the field after injury was a mightily successful one. With Atlanta’s troubles of finishing off games lately, Villalba’s crucial goal right after coming on cannot be praised enough. It was his first chance at goal in quite some time and he was as clinical as ever to secure the win for his team.
