Injury Report: Atlanta United vs. Charleston Battery

at least one notable absence for U.S. Open Cup action.

Tata Martino spoke with reporters Tuesday morning to give us some further insight into the status of certain players for Wednesday’s U.S. Open Cup matchup against the Charleston Battery. We have one addition to the injury report.

Chris McCann: Martino announced that the Irishman will be unavailable on Wednesday. McCann was subbed off at halftime against the Philadelphia Union last Saturday. The defender made his return to action last week against the New England Revolution after a four-match absence due to a hamstring injury. Let’s hope he didn’t re-aggravate it.

His status for this weekend’s pivotal Eastern Conference clash against NYCFC is unknown.

Tito Villalba: After missing both matches last week due to a hyperextended knee, Villalba is still questionable for Wednesday and will be re-evaluated during Tuesday’s training. It would be nice to see the winger receive some much needed playing time, but perhaps it’s best to not risk aggravating his injury in a cup tie right before matches against NYCFC and the Columbus Crew.
